Mark Kalch

Mark Kalch

Audacious Explorer, Adventurer and Athlete

Mark Kalch is an audacious explorer, adventurer and athlete whose unsupported expeditions have taken him from Everest to Africa, from Ethiopia’s isolated Omo Valley to paddling the length of the mighty Amazon River and a solo on foot crossing of the entire Islamic Republic of Iran. Mark continues to paddle the world’s longest rivers through some of the planet’s most dangerous and interesting places.

Mark’s seemingly impossible journeys allow him to explore the limits of human potential as well as develop a greater understanding of environments, people and cultures who would otherwise remain obscured from view. His passion and excitement to share these stories captivate and entertain audiences that include students of all ages, the Royal Geographical Society, National Geographic Society, The Times Destinations Travel Show, adventure travel expos and corporate groups.

Testimonials from Teachers

"I have talked to most of the sixth, first form and teachers, who attended yesterday. The response was entirely enthusiastic & positive (which is not always the case, even with our better speakers). Comments ranged from 'absolutely brilliant', all the way down to 'very interesting'. Thanks for what was clearly an exceptionally well delivered and fascinating talk which has made a great impression on all who attended."
