Clive Branson – Inspiring Resilience, Mental Health Awareness, and the Power of Vulnerability in Young People

Clive Branson is a powerful and heartfelt speaker whose story of resilience through deep personal challenges inspires young people to embrace vulnerability, talk about their feelings, and find strength—even in life’s toughest moments.

After losing his father to Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia, Clive was later diagnosed with both Motor Neurone Disease and Stage Two Prostate Cancer. Struggling with grief, anxiety, and depression, Clive spent ten weeks in a psychiatric hospital. But with the love and support of his family, he rebuilt his life—and found a new purpose: to share his story and help others realise they’re never alone.

Clive speaks honestly and openly about:

  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Coping with grief and personal loss
  • Finding strength in difficult times
  • Why vulnerability is a superpower, not a weakness
  • How resilience and gratitude can change your outlook on life

Whether speaking in assemblies, classrooms, or wellbeing workshops, Clive creates a safe, respectful space for students to reflect, ask questions, and feel seen.

"Clive was fantastic. A very approachable speaker who communicated well before the event. He spoke very well and held the attention of a difficult group for an hour and his story was inspirational. The key messages linked really well with the GCSE preparation day without even knowing it!! He also enthusiastically judged a poster competition."

– Lucy Jennings, Sir John Talbots School
