Young people are our future and we need to give them every chance we can – from Apprentice to Boardroom

From a single parent family on a council estate to working across the world and running a £41 million turnover company, the journey has had many adventures.

Tracy believes in people and particularly young people – she is passionate about sharing her journey and her knowledge to motivate and inspire the young people of today and help them become leaders of our tomorrow.

Tracy has extensive work and life experience from a market stall to cocktail waitress; school governor to Eucharistic minister - to corporate global leader and entrepreneur SME. Tracy understands the need for motivation, inspiration, creativity, knowledge and reaching your dreams - with a little help from the right people at the right time, you can achieve miracles.

5 years ago, Tracy was heavily involved in the corporate global world as General Manager or the creative division of the world’s biggest packaging company managing a £40 million turnover business. She was on the ‘Rat Race’ treadmill of living Monday to Friday in London, travelling extensively and making the mad dash up the M1 every weekend to see her 3 children and family. It was definitely time to make a change - Tracy decided it was time to make those big life changes a reality! She quit the corporate ladder and started her own business – she has never looked back!

Tracy regularly speaks and lectures for a number of colleges, universities and sixth forms as well as delivering 'our world' to primary schools on subjects ranging from social media for career development, change, innovation, setting up businesses, developing your ideas to networking and communication skills.

She is a strong advocate for women in business and she was invited to speak for International Women’s Day at Huddersfield University TEDx, Huddersfield Literary Festival Pechakuchin and MODA UK 2013 at the NEC. Tracy also speaks for the North’s largest businesswomen’s networking group called Forward Ladies.

Tracy is working with PERA as a business growth accelerator coach and trainer and is an i-PIP accredited coach on leadership & management. A core value is giving back, and she works with a national enterprise youth centre as a ‘Dragon’ and judge, has spent 8 months working with NEETS and now works with students as a mentor. Last year she was a judge on the National Citizen Programme and a guest inspirational speaker. She has worked with Scouts for over 20 years running 2 camps / year.

Tracy was a Eucharistic Minister for 10 years and provides an objective overview of different religions practised in the UK today.

Tracy is currently Managing Director of Brug Consultancy, Regional Manager Forward Ladies, Board member WOMENCENTRE, Young Enterprise advisor, Charity Angel, KYEC advisor, inspirational speaker and Dragon, YE Board director (treasurer), Unity Hall board director, Enterprise Scout for HTEA, Board director on KTT and a voice for Positive Image. She is a trainer for SFEDI, a member of IOEE and holds diplomas in Performance Coaching for business from Newcastle and Integrated marketing communications from the IDM.

Testimonials from Teachers

"Tracy did well"

– Chris McAllister, Deputy Head Academic, Mount St Mary's College

"Thank you so much for your contribution on Friday, you pitched it perfectly and I felt it was really powerful for the pupils to hear from someone from outside the programme reinforcing what I hope they’ve taken from the year and inspiring them to be the best they can be. "

– Bryony Boyle, Selby Big Local

"Many thanks for speaking yesterday at our Presentation evening for our ex-students and current students. The evening was a celebration of the achievements of our pupils. We really enjoyed your talk, it was motivational, dynamic and inspiring. The parents, pupils and staff all gained something from your speech and it was interesting to see how many were nodding in agreement. Many thanks for sharing your life skills, advice and “darling coffee” experiences with us!"

– Deputy Head Teacher, Pleckgate High School

"I was delighted that I had the opportunity to meet Tracy when she gave a speech at our annual Prize Giving ceremony. Our original speaker had withdrawn at the last minute but, even though there was little time left before the event, Tracy offered to step in. This was no easy job as the event involved being on stage in front of over 1000 people at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral, giving out prizes and making a congratulatory speech. Tracy arrived early and on meeting her she proved to be warm and personable, with a great sense of humour, as well as being an absolute professional. The speech she gave was heartfelt and inspiring for our students and, despite the fact that almost 200 students were receiving prizes, she greeted each one with a friendly smile and a sincere congratulations. I'd like to thank Tracy on behalf on The Belvedere Academy and hope that we get the chance to work together again the future."

– Emma Speed, Acting Assistant Principal, The Belvedere Academy

"Tracy gave me the best boost that I needed. Independent, knowledgable, thought provoking, honest... If you're needing a different perspective, with utter professionalism and integrity - she's your lady. Thanks Tracy"

– Nicole Ballantyne, C.Eng. MIMechE

– Jo Lumb, Impact and Engagement Manager, University of Leeds

"Tracy was brilliant on Wednesday. It was a small group but the right people and they are certainly committed ambassadors for the school. The speech by Tracy alongside another by our Chair Paul Mackie must have really worked as the offers of partnership and support from the group were incredible."

– Jo Jessop, Tong School

"We were delighted to have Tracy Sheldon as our Guest Speaker for a Rotary Club Annual Dinner. She gave an engaging presentation which stimulated and challenged our thinking to continue moving our Rotary membership forward. Her speech was passionate about mentoring young people to be the leaders of our future"
