Ross McGill is a qualified teacher who, across three decades, has worked in some of the most challenging schools in London as an assistant and deputy headteacher. Throughout his school leadership, he has been responsible for improving quality of teaching and learning and has a national profile as a leading contributor and organiser of professional development, research, and teacher wellbeing within a growing community of education professionals. As the most followed educator on social media in the U.K., he also offers unique social media insights and support for schools and organisations.

Ross started teaching in 1991; a school leader for 20 years, he has worked in some of the most challenging secondary schools in London. In 2015, he was nominated as one of the ‘500 Most Influential People in Britain’ by The Sunday Times. He remains the only classroom teacher to feature to this day. Today, he works with pupils, teachers and school leaders Worldwide, supporting teaching and learning, workload and teacher mental health.

Ross has worked with 100,000+ teachers across the world, including physical work with teachers in Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Jordan, Malaysia, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, Vietnam and the UAE. Ross is also a primary governor, a PGCE tutor and visiting lecturer at the University of Buckingham, and a secondary school father. When he is not battling with his doctoral research on and offline, he is either travelling to teach teachers, researching social media networks, podcasting, writing papers or tweeting! he also manages 50,000 weekly visitors to his resource webiste and is currently writing his 11th and 12th teaching book, due to be published in 2023 and 2024.
