Professor Paws

Professor Paws

South-London Raised Musician Professor Paws talks to young children about knife crime, overcoming adversity, mental health and discrimination and shares his deepest personal stories to inspire young adults!

Professor Paws began as a music producer for the likes of Giggs, Angel etc. and has been instrumental to the birth of the urban music industry we see today. Over the recent years Professor Paws has shifted his efforts to produce himself as a self-produced music artist.

He has seen some great achievements as follows:

  • Over 1.4 million streams across platforms on his latest single Bruk Up.
  • Charting at number 10 on MTV Europe Dance charts AND number 16 on MTV’s Club Big 20 chart.
  • Number 6 on Music Week Black Music Club chart and currently number 11 on Commercial Music chart.
  • On stage performances alongside Wizkid, Black Sherif and more in 2022.
  • Regular plays across radio on BBC, Capital Xtra etc.
  • A dance remix for his single Bruk Up by Anton Powers who is a very big Dance DJ.
  • Featured on South London Press, Wonderland Magazine, Clash and many more big magazine/newspaper brands.

Professor Paws grew up in the heart of South London and came from humble beginnings. He has a passion and closeness to helping young adults and teenagers overcome adversity as he has many touch-points with gun crime, knife crime and gang culture.

Professor Paws is also not new to public speaking and has done a number of talks at various venues around these topics and has has a phenomenal impact on every school he visits due to his ability to relate to the students and speak to them as one of themselves. Given his both rough and academic background (a 1:1 degree holder), he is able to strike a unique and relatable down-to-earth balance when communicating with each school he visits.

Testimonials from Teachers

"It was fantastic and really well received. Parents and kids absolutely loved it."

– Kim Voisey, Head of Performing Arts, Victory Academy

"We really enjoyed having Professor Paws in to visit. Both Year groups loved it - having the songs and the talk was just brilliant. We couldn’t have asked for more. Huge thanks. It really was a great morning."

– Alison Mulrooney, Assistant Head, The Howard School

"A huge thank you for facilitating Professor Paw's visit to school yesterday. Despite the challenges (namely a large number of students self-isolating, coupled with a late bedtime for many with the previous night's football!), we still managed between 120 and 250 students for each performance, with well over 700 students able to benefit from his visit over the course of the day. The performance was very well received, and his talk chimed perfectly with the wider theme of our Equality & Diversity week. They were very flexible, accommodating and easy to work with, and Paws’ personal anecdotes and focus on kindness were well-pitched, left a real impression and made him easy for students to relate to.

One of the members of staff who watched the session was so impressed that she has asked me whether I can pass on details for her to share with her partner, who is the headteacher of another large Leeds secondary school."

– Christopher Lillington, Assistant Head, Prince Henrys Grammar
