Sam is an award-winning career coach and published author, giving new perspectives through inspiring talks and workshops, teaching young people to unlearn what may hold them back and to identify and go for what they really want, with complete clarity and confidence.
As a qualified careers adviser, she originally worked with young people in schools before living in New Zealand and becoming a teacher to adults. She then added unique solution-focused coaching therapy qualifications to her belt when she noticed similar confidence issues and patterns of behaviour in both young people and adults that seemed to repeatedly stop them from getting what they truly wanted in life.
She is passionate about breaking the cycle of belief learnt at a young age, that we take with us into adulthood and can then unconsciously hand down to the next generation, and she is an inspirational speaker and writer on the subject – publishing her book and unique career guide ‘When I Grow Up I Want to be a Giraffe’ in 2020, and winning an award for Best Practice Career Coach for her dedication to the careers sector with the Career Development Institute in 2022.
With 20 years of experience in the sector, she currently goes into schools, colleges and universities to work with young people, delivering inspirational assemblies, talks and workshops around careers, resilience, motivation and improving confidence, by tailoring talks around your requirements for a career-linked takeaway, from addressing unconscious behaviours that could hold students back, through to discussing AI, and how it can be used to give students the edge in applications.
Her talks have been described as inspiring, motivating and thought-provoking and can be both interactive and fun, informative and engaging - leaving students (and teachers) feeling motivated to be able to achieve anything.
