Laura-Jane Rawlings

The Youth Employment Specialist

“Gis a job” and “I’ve done an American Art History Degree, what can I do now?” These are just two of the many phrases that inspired Laura-Jane to hang up her commercial recruitment career and start working with students, young people and schools to raise the aspirations and employability skills of the next generation.

She motivates students to take personal responsibility for themselves and their own futures in a tough but fair approach to careers.

Laura-Jane uses anecdotes from her time as a recruiter to show students the common mistakes of job seeking and how to avoid them.

She is a specialist in Careers and Employability and passionate about supporting young people to be successful post education. Laura-Jane works with schools and other organisations to help them embed good quality practice around developing young people for the world of work and to be able to contribute to society.
