Testimonials from Teachers

"I first met Jade in January where I heard her speak at IncludEd run by The Difference. She blew me away and actually made me cry, not only with her story but with the way she spoke about turning her difficulties into something so positive.

Jade is a now youth worker - she grew up locally, she is a care leaver and had a tough time at school that I will let her tell you more about if you get the privilege to meet her. She currently works with/for the Prince's Trust and The Diana Award as well as her local youth groups. She has recently completed a term at the VRU meaning she worked with the Mayor's Office and Scotland Yard. There is definitely more that I've forgotten to write here.

After our initial meeting, Jade came to speak to our KS4 students on International Women's Day - she spoke to them about Equity and Equality and the response was excellent.

Following this, I have just had Jade in to deliver workshops that she has developed and planned herself - Employability, Growth Mindset and Equality and Equity. She has worked with groups in Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 and they have all responded so well. Jade has kept them engaged and made them feel heard, valued and included. Every student has taken something out of their session.

Jade is now developing this into her own business and I couldn't champion her more. We will definitely be having her back (she's already booked for the next IWD) and I really want to spread the word to you all so you can get her in to your schools too."

– Ms Emma Smith, Assistant Headteacher, Pastoral/DSL, Woolwich Poly Girls

"As part of our drive at Newhaven School to develop student understanding of Equity, we had the pleasure of Jade Barnett visit our school to deliver three 1 hour student sessions in the Spring term 2024. The focus was on the difference between Equity and Equality.

Students that took part got a good understanding of the meaning of Equity and the need for it in society. We are a Pupil referral unit catering for students with a variety of needs including students under CAMHS, ASD, anxiety and behavioural. I would recommend Jade as a workshop facilitator and would definitely work with her again."

– Andrew Bryan, Equalities Lead, Newhaven School

"A few of the students came to report how inspiring and motivating they found the assembly. Some said it was one of the best assemblies they have attended and wished it had been longer."

– Miss Bertha Jamal-Wensah, Student Services Manager, Leigh Academy Blackheath
