Beth Southern is the creator of EAL HUB and is an experienced EAL Consultant and a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) for EAL. She has a wealth of experience across both primary and secondary, within state sector and private education.
Beth was Head of EAL at a large inner-city 3-18 academy in Manchester for 4 years and more recently was Leading Teacher for EAL at a local council. She has worked with EAL pupils for the last 14 years and has a wide range of experience of working with International Schools around the world. Her training sessions enable teachers and TAs to gain confidence in understanding how language is acquired, the importance of vocabulary and its impact on the wider school experience, assessing EAL learners and planning next step support by demonstrating ideas, resources and differentiation which staff can take away and use in school immediately.
Training and talks can be adapted to meet your needs so once the booking is confirmed you can contact Beth with more details of what you specifically need support with.
At 5.20pm, my staff came out of training, laughing, smiling, enthused & empowered. Every single staff member I asked said they would highly recommend it & that it is some of the best training they have ever had. Thank you so much Beth. Amazing training!
Beth REALLY knows her stuff, her knowledge and enthusiasm are infectious. Thank you so much for today!
