Tracey Bennett

Helping teenagers build a healthy relationship with food - without guilt, fads or hype.

Tracey Bennett is an Educational Nutritionist with an MSc in Obesity and Weight Management and a BSc in Psychology. She delivers interactive, research-based talks under her programme Healthy Eating Without the Hype .

Since 2017, Tracey has worked with secondary schools including Parmiter’s, Aldenham, Channing, NLCS, The Archer Academy and Henrietta Barnett, reaching thousands of students aged 11 to 17. She combines evidence-based nutrition with psychology and relatable storytelling to help teenagers make sense of what they see online - from fad diets and food myths to body image pressures, eating disorders and emotional eating.

Her sessions are lively and visual, using Slido polls, real-world dilemmas and myth-busting games to get large groups thinking critically about food culture and social media. Drawing on her experience as a Childline volunteer, Tracey brings an empathetic, non-judgemental listening style to every talk, creating a safe space for young people to reflect honestly on their relationship with food and wellbeing.

She also runs parent and staff workshops such as The Parent’s Toolkit for Building Lifelong Healthy Eaters, which support whole-school wellbeing and link directly to PSHE and RSHE curriculum aims. Based in London and Hertfordshire, Tracey works with wellbeing leads, PSHE coordinators and senior staff to help schools talk about food, body image and mental health without guilt or restriction.

Tracey also offers a presentation on eating disorders:

Eating Disorders: Beyond the Mirror.

This talk explores eating disorders as mental health conditions rather than simply problems with food. It examines how pressures around perfectionism, control, social comparison and social media can influence young people’s relationship with eating.

Through discussion and anonymous polls, students reflect the difference between coping strategies and control, and why early support matters. The aim is to reduce stigma and help students understand what may be happening beneath the surface.
