Julie is an experienced speaker and trainer. As founder of Freedom Personal Safety she empowers women and children to take simple steps to have more control over their safety.
She knows personally the impact that violence can have on a young person but she does not see herself as a ‘victim’, but a ‘survivor’. She is on a mission to help children and young people understand that ‘no-one has the right to hurt you’. As well as speaking to students, she engages them in activities which explore issues around respect, self-value and assertiveness.
Julie gives lively, engaging talks on sex and relationship education, sexual exploitation, domestic abuse and challenging gender stereotypes; these are challenging issues that she deals with in a sensitive and open manner.
