Crystal is a multi-award winning entrepreneur, author of two self-help books, qualified solicitor advocate, and speaker. Among all of her achievements, she still found the time to go solo backpacking in Australia, South East Asia and the Middle East.
Despite being an insecure person to begin with, Crystal has learned to embrace her uniqueness and enjoy her life. Crystal has had many wins in life but has also experienced her fair share of failures. Crystal’s entertaining talks take audiences on a vivid journey throughout her life portraying the difficulties she faced and the practical methods she used to overcome them. She is an expert in turning negative situations into useful learning for others.
For example, Crystal received poor grades during her first year at university and considered giving up. She didn’t. She decided to find out how to improve from lecturers and implemented what she was told. She completed university with the grade she wanted and recognised that there was very little help available for new undergraduates.
With limited funds, industry knowledge or resources, Crystal used her own savings to publish her first book, “What They Don’t Tell You about University” to help undergraduates to maximise their time there. Publishing her book led to her running conferences (in collaboration with the Mayor of London’s Office), featuring in mainstream media (The Telegraph and BBC Radio), winning awards (from organisations such as Ernst & Young), and speaking at various events such as school career days and corporate events.
Crystal did all of the above while training to become a solicitor. Qualifying as a solicitor had its challenges however her resilience, focus and ability to build relationships helped her to succeed.
Crystal is always looking for ways to challenge herself and decided to go solo backpacking for 6 months. Surviving with nothing more than her backpack and phone, she met people from all over the world and ended up interviewing the CEO of a corporate organisation because, in her own words, “every situation you find yourself in is an opportunity to learn.”
Crystal believes in life-long learning and is dedicated to helping people to succeed in their chosen endeavours, by encouraging them to be both bold and practical about achieving their goals.
“Crystal is an engaging and confident speaker. She can hold large groups comfortably and her passion clearly assists her delivery. I would be keen to have Crystal return and work with our young people again. I have rarely worked with someone with the level of enthusiasm Crystal has. Her attention to detail and her ability to read the room and tailor her approach to entice her audience is excellent. A real pleasure to work with!”– Michael Efthymiou, Programme Manager at The Challenge, National Citizens Service
"Crystal got the students to think about not giving up! Yes, failure is inevitable but pick yourself up and carry on - don’t just stop. That was the key message and it was a very good session.”– Teacher, Clacton County High School
“Crystal delivered a public speaking presentation to my group of 16-19 year olds. It was relevant, interactive and fun. My students were able to ask questions and participate in group discussions. Crystal was enthusiastic, passionate and inspiring. It was refreshing to have her in my class.”– Ria Marsh, Westminster Kingsway College
