How to minimise stress and maximise potential - teaching the skills of self-confidence, dealing with bullying, personal resilience / happiness, effective communication, change management and outstanding working and personal relationships.
Cat Williams is a relationship counsellor, personal coach, writer, speaker and expert on resilience, relationships and emotional well-being for the media, including the BBC and ITV. She is the founder of ‘Stay Calm and Content’ and the author of the multiple 5* reviewed ‘Stay Calm and Content No Matter What Life Throws At You’.
Cat offers uniquely engaging, interactive and tailor-made speeches and workshops for primary to sixth form pupils, and the staff who teach them. Sessions take into account all types of learning style and incorporate real-life scenarios, story-telling, props, visual aids, hand-outs, active games, educational drama and open discussion. Questions and comments are always welcome throughout.
A) Sessions for pupils - to explore and teach about:
Emotional well-being, happiness, dealing with bullying, stress management, self-confidence, preparation for tests and exams, understanding and controlling emotions and behaviour, self-harm, habits and addictions, responsible use of social media, personal resilience, moral courage,mindfulness, healthy relationships, communication skills, sexual consent, family breakdown, social awareness.
Workshops meet OFSTED criteria for Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural development and are designed to develop key learning skills of Readiness, Resourcefulness, Resilience, Responsibility and Reflection.
B) Sessions for teachers - to enable them to:
i) Learn new techniques and feel more confident delivering lessons on bullying, emotional well-being, mind-set for exams, understanding and controlling emotions and behaviour, transition, self-harm, stress management, responsible use of social media, building healthy relationships, personal resilience, moral courage and confidence, understanding sexual consent etc.
ii) Foster their own emotional well-being including how to: minimise stress and maximise potential especially during inspections and busy periods; build and maintain personal resilience, use coaching skills to increase collaboration with pupils and colleagues especially when managing challenging behaviour.
Cat’s ‘Stay Calm and Content for Schools’ programme has been developed in conjunction with Brian Edmiston, Professor of Drama in Education at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Brian is the author of several books including ‘Transforming Teaching and Learning with Active and Dramatic Approaches’.
