Junior Vets - TV series launch - our speaker Paul Mantelow is the start of the show!
Well they say never work with animals or children! We are delighted that this month sees the launch of Paul Manktelow's new TV series "Junior Vets" on CCBC and he is the headline host.
The show is great! It celebrates Edinburgh University's Vet school wonderful work, and recognises the veterinary and animal health professions as the unsung heros that we alk know already.The School Speakers team are BIG animal lovers! The show's concept is to engage younger audiences with animal health and welfare. There's also an online game to support the series, being a cartoon character has always been a personal life goal of Paul and his dream has come true!
The concept of taking children into operating theatres, farms and even crocodile enclosures was not an easy one to sell and a challenging idea. However, the children did themselves proud and really impressed the professionals whichthey worked with. Engaging children in animal welfare work is incredibly important in ensuring that in the future animal health remains both in the spotlight and in the public's hearts.
